Women at the Bus Stop and the Woman at the Well

The other day I went on my usual lunchtime walk at work.  Usually there is no one at the bus stop, and I just stick a million dollar bill in the bench.  But today, there were three young asian girls (not real young, college age).  So I asked them if they ever saw one of these (a million dollar bill).  They looked a little puzzled so I handed them each one and said it had a message on the back.  They still looked puzzled, so I asked if they spoke English and they said yes.  So I told them again about the message on the back & asked them to read it and told them to have a good day.

As I walked away, I thought, I know some people who would say to me "Why are you sharing with college girls, you are crossing cultural boundaries and it's weird".  So I immediately asked the Lord about it.

The thought that popped into my head "Remember the Samaritan woman at the well?"  How was that for being culturally weird, but she needed to hear the Gospel!

End of Story.

I won't ever be rude or pushy or scare anyone, but EVERYONE needs to hear the glorious Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Everyone!

Keep on sharing the Good News!

A Blessing to Encourage Another Witnesser

Wow, what a blessing to have the privilege of encouraging another Christian to witness!

Today I went to my doctor, and the lady who helped me was a Christian who had seen the bills before.  I gave her all the ones I had in my pocket, and she said she was going to get more.  She had already started giving them out a few minutes later!  Praise the Lord!

This is the most important message for every person to hear, and what a joy to help and encourage others in the work.

Mark 16:15 - He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.

Fun At the Mall

Wow, what a great time at the Mall yesterday.  I took my 4 1/2 year old granddaughter out for a meal.  We had a blast, and I ran out of MDBs.  I had 10 in my pocket and 10 in my wallet and gave all of them out.

This was a first!  I gave one to the fast food clerk and I saw later that she taped it to her shirt, so I went back & asked her if I could take a picture & post it on my blog, and she said fine!  See below ...

You never know where your MDBs will end up!

I also had several short conversations with people.

One conversation was with a young girl at the mall playground.  I gave her a bill and told her what it was and she proceeded to turn it overand read it OUT LOUD!  Wow, I was just praying.  Turns out she is a Christian and I gave her a few more that she wanted to give to some friends.

It's also effective to just place them somewhere.  Lots of times I just leave them on a bench, come back a few minutes later and it's gone!

You never know what's going to happen and how God will use your faithfulness to get his message out.

So KEEP ON SHARING THE FAITH!

"Can I Keep It?"

What would you think of a piece of paper that has a great gospel message on it that you hand to people and they ask you if they can keep it?  A witnesser's dream?

It happens with million dollar bills all the time and it happened again today.

I was pumping gas and had it on autofill and went and passed out 4 MDBs to people pumping their gas.

This is how I typically do it:
1) I am very repectful - "Sir" or "Ma'am" - "Have you seen one of these"?  and hand it to them.
2) They almost always smile & take it!
3) I say "It's a million dollar bill".  Keep it.  It has a great gospel message on the back.
4) They say "Thank you"!

So today I gave it to one lady and she immediately asked "Can I keep it?"  To which I said, "Of course, and make sure you take a look at the back, it's got a great gospel message".  And she said "I will, thank you!"

Amazing - people often ask to keep it and 99% of the time say a hearty "Thank you".

Thank you, Jesus!!!

Will you go to heaven when you die? And if you think so, why?

Will you go to heaven when you die?  And why do you think so?

Many people say yes - here are some of the reasons I have gotten ...

1) I'm an angel, and I do lots of good deeds.
2) I have taken care of my sick father for years.
3) I have Jesus in my heart.
4) I just know.

How can one have assurance that he or she is going to heaven?  There is only one way, and that is to repent (turn from your sin and selfishness to God) and trust in Jesus ALONE for the forgiveness of your sins.  He said "I am the way, the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me" - John 14:6.

I tell people I know I'm going to heaven because it no longer has anything to do with me!  I am safe and secure in the love of my Savior!

What 5 Minutes at a Gas Station Can Do!!!

The other day I had to get some gas for my car.  Sometimes I'm just not disposed to witness.  Silly me.  But this day, I had a strong sense of the Lord saying to me "Don't be afraid".  Three separate blessings resulted for me, in 5 minutes.

I gave a million to a young man sitting in the passenger seat of a car re-fueling.  He immediately turned it around and began reading - "Everybody does that, everybody does that ...", to which I replied "Yes, we all need a Savior", then "You're dead a lot longer than you're alive - that could be the most important paper you've ever held in your life" - and he said "Yes".

I gave another to a lady pumping her fuel.  I told her what it was and she said "My daughter will like this".  And I wondered how many people pass on the bills to others.  Who knows how God will use them!

I had given another one to another lady, and afterwards she came up to me and said "Would you pray for my son, he's on drugs".  I asked his name & prayed with her right there.  When I was done she said "Thank you" and went back to her car with tears in her eyes.

Isn't it AMAZING what the Lord can do with 5 minutes at a gas station???

He is to be PRAISED and THANKED.  All glory to HIM.

It is So Easy!!

It is so easy to share the most important message of all time, with million dollar bills.  People say "Thank You".  Yesterday I had two separate instances.

We are camping this week.

I got into a "fishing" discussion with our neighbor (although he was doing most of the talking - I'm not much of a fisherman).  As we were finishing, as is my custom, I said "I like to give one of these to people I meet".  To which he said, "Oh, you're the million dollar person - I saw one in the bathroom & started reading it, but I decided to leave it there so someone else could read it."  So I let him have it, of course.  His wife met him and he showed her, and she said to me "Thanks for giving one to our family"!!!

I also met a young man on a bicycle ride, as I was taking a rest on the trail.  He just started talking to me, so of course, I gave him a bill.  We had a great conversation and he told me he had 5 children (I was really surprised) so I gave him 5 more.  Again, he thanked me.  Part of our discussion was that if he was a true believer, that he could be sure he was going to heaven.  I urged him to carefully read the back of the bill.

It's so easy to share the most important message of all time, hands down!

"Are You a Good Person?"

Yesterday I gave out my first "Are You a Good Person" tract.  It's actually a little comic book which goes into more detail about God's Law, our sin and salvation.  I also put my name and phone number on there, if they want to call & talk about it.  I gave bills to some people at a bus stop, and one of them engaged for a short conversation.  He said he thought he was a good person, so I gave him the tract - I didn't have much time to talk.  Praise God!  I pray that he reads & repents & trusts in Jesus alone for salvation!

Praise God!

Here's a link to the tract on "Living Waters", if you want to see it ... "Are You a Good Person"

How to Get People to Take a Tract

If I meet someone, like when walking the dog, sitting on an airplane, etc., I like to say "I like to give one of these to people I meet."  About 99 times out of 100, they take it.  They might ask "What is it", and I just say "It's a million dollar bill", and they take it.

If I haven't even talked to a person, or just come up on them, I might say "Have you seen one of these?".  Almost always, they take it!

I also make it a point now to tell them what it is.  Either "It's a Gospel Tract and has a great message", or "It has the million dollar question", or something like that.

It's a wonderful blessing in my life to be able to share the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ EVERY DAY!

Praise be to the Lord!

It's a Blessing to be Blessed

What a blessing it is to be blessed by people.  This past week two separate total strangers, whom I gave million dollar bills to, were believers and said "God Bless You".  One was a man in a parking lot needing directions, and another was a flight attendant.  How neat to come across a fellow believer and have them say "God Bless You".  Thank you, Lord!

Three Guidelines for Witnessing to Remember Every Day

  1. Never leave the house without tracts!  In fact, always have them available even in the house, so you can give to anyone who comes to the door!
  2. Be friendly!  If I am friendly, 99 people out of 100 are friendly back, and it is very easy to transition to "Have you seen one of these? ..."
  3. Ask questions - don't be afraid!
    1. Will you go to heaven when you die?
    2. Why do you think that?
    3. What is your status with God?
